Jack Foster, Chair of the Niagara Peninsula Children’s Centre Foundation has confirmed the addition of former Toronto Maple Leaf player Gary Leeman as a head table guest for the 6th Annual Sports Celebrity Dinner scheduled for Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Club Roma.
Leeman will join former NHL legends Dennis Hull who returns as a key-note speaker with his distinctive style of comedy, golaies Billy Smith who won 4 Stanley cups with the New York Islanders as well as the Vezina and Con Smythe trophies, Ed Chadwickand and Peter Ing. Other head table guests include Canadian Mixed Martial Arts and UFC Fighter Mark “The Machine” Hominick, Buffalo Bandits NLL star Mark Steenhuis, Canadian Women’s Olympian Jayna Hefford and CFL Hall of Famer Angelo Mosca.
Year 2012 Inductees into the St. Catharines Sports Hall of Fame will also be honoured after special ceremonies and more celebrities will be announced in the near future. Foster says, “we are anticipating another sell-out dinner and we are delighted with the positive reaction we have been receiving for the return of Dennis Hull”.
Hull who is a former Chigaco Black Hawks and Detroit Red Wings NHL star is now known as one of North America’s foremost after-dinner speakers who is always in high demand. His hilarious anecdotes and stories, with his unique, distinctive style of delivery has pleased thousands, many of them right here in the Niagara Region. Gordie Howe once said, “there are two superstars in the Hull family-Bobby the hockey player and Dennis the after-dinner speaker”.
Scotiabank/ScotiaMcleod has again agreed to be the corporate sponsor for this event which ahs become the highlight of the St. Catharines/Niagara sporting year.
Tickets are $100.00 each and can be purchased in tables of 12, 10, 8 or individually with a $60 tax receipt for each ticket purchased.
